ERIC DEBEY

Eric was elected as Business Manager for Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9 in July of 2012 and is responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the Local Union; he is the Chairman of both the Family Health Plan and Pension Fund, and is a member of the Training Committee.  Eric served as Business Representative/Financial Secretary-Treasurer from February 2008 through June of 2012, and was also an instructor to 1st year apprentices from September 2005 through April 2012.  He was an Organizer for Local #9 from March of 2004 through April of 2006.  Eric was indentured into Local #9's Apprenticeship Program in May of 1996 and turned out as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker in June of 2000.

JASON WARDRIP

Jason is serving his second full term as Denver Business Representative, having been elected initially in September 2007.  He is responsible for settling disputes between the membership and employers, enforcing the contract and negotiating new contracts as assigned by the Business Manager.  Jason served as the Local's Warden from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2003, was elected to the Executive Board and served from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006 and was then elected as Local #9's president from July 1, 2006 through August 26, 2007.  He was indentured into Local #9's Apprenticeship Program in June of 1996 and turned out as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker in July 2000.  Jason serves on the Training Committee, is the vice-president of the Building Trades Council, and sits on the Board of Directors for Labors' Community Agency.

TOMMY DONGARRA

Tommy became the Financial Secretary-Treasurer in July 2012 for Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9, and in addition to those duties, he is also a Business Representative responsible for settling disputes between the membership and employers, enforcing the contract, and negotiating new contracts as assigned by the Business Manager.  He is a second generation union Sheet Metal Worker with 17 years experience; he has worked as a field foreman and has served on Local #9's Executive Board.  Tommy graduated from Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL in June 1994, was indentured as an apprentice member in Local 73 in 1996 and turned out as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker in the summer of 1999.  Tommy also serves on the Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9 Training Committee.

RANDY MITCHELL

Randy was elected the Southern Area Business Representative for Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9 in June of 2009 and is responsible for dispatching members, settling disputes between members and employers, enforcing existing contracts and negotiating new contracts, and any additional duties assigned by the business manager.  Randy entered the apprenticeship program in Colorado Springs in June of 1980 and turned out as a journeyman in June of 1984.  While working in the field, he achieved the ranks of field foreman, project superintendent and field superintendent.  Randy has served on the Statewide Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee and the Labor Management Committee from 1999 to 2006 and was reappointed to those committees in July of 2009.

TIM MORAN

Tim began his apprenticeship in what was then Local 81 in 1979; Local 81 then merged into Local 2, and he turned out as a journeyman sheet metal worker in 1983 from Local 2.  He is a third generation sheet metal worker, and has 3 brothers, 2 cousins and an uncle who are in the trade.  Tim was elected as a Business Agent in Local 2 in 1991, and then served as an Organizer for Local 2 from 1997 through 2004 when he was asked to take the position as Director of Organizing at the Building and Construction Trades Department in Washington, DC.  He was in charge of organizing, education and research, and taught organizing at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, MD until the funding ran out for that position.  He then went back to work at Local 2 and then transferred to Local 9 in December 2011 to assume the duties of Organizer for our local.

JOHN FLECK

John became the Statewide Training Coordinator for the apprenticeship program on July 1, 2012.  He began his own apprenticeship training in 1982; during his apprenticeship he was asked to sit on the Local #9 Organizing Committee and also worked as a salted organizer.  He turned out as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker in 1986.  From 1991 through 1998 he taught Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9's 2nd and 4th year apprentices; and also in 1991 he was elected to Local #9's Executive Board, representing the Denver Area.  In 1993, he was appointed as an organizer and in 1995 he was appointed to the Training Committee, and around that time was also appointed to the Denver Area Labor Federation as a delegate.  In 1997, John was elected as Business Representative for Local #9 and later held the dual position of Business Representative/Financial Secretary-Treasurer until February 2008.  He held the office of President of the Denver Area Labor Federation from December 2007, giving up his position with Local #9 in February 2008 to represent the area labor federation full time.

ANDREW GILLILAND

Andy is the Assistant Training Coordinator for the Colorado Springs Training Facility and also a full-time instructor at both the Colorado Springs and Denver Schools.  Andy has been teaching since 1996 and recently received his Associate of Arts degree.  In 1993, he completed his apprenticeship while working in the Front Range.

LEONARD E. MARTINEZ

Leonard is an organizer and has served as the Vice President of Sheet Metal Workers' Local #9 from the summer of 2001 through the present.  Leonard has worked in all aspects of the trade, starting in a production sheet metal shop.  He is a current member of the El Paso County Democrats and the Southern Colorado Area Labor Council.  Leonard is a second generation Local #9 member; his father, Archie Martinez, was one of the first Hispanic members of Local #9 in the Southern Area and is an active retiree.
